Cookie Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This site belongs to me, Emily Varr. I work as a sole trader (eenmanszaak) based in Belgium. This page explains which cookies the site uses, what each one does & how to change your choice.

What a cookie is

A small text file your browser saves when you open a website. Some keep the site working. Others count visits.

Necessary cookies

These keep the site running & safe, so they're always on. Squarespace, the platform that hosts this site, sets them for me.

  • crumb: protects the forms on this site from fake requests. Deleted when you close your browser.

  • ss_performancecookiesAllowed & ss_marketingcookiesAllowed: remember the choice you made in the cookie banner, for 30 days.

  • squarespace-video-player-options: remembers your video player settings. Stays in your browser until you clear it.

The contact form also runs Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a person is sending the message, not a bot. To do that, Google may save a cookie in your browser & read technical data like your IP address & browser type. Google's Privacy Policy & Terms of Service apply.

Analytics cookies

These show me how many people visit & which pages they read. Squarespace Analytics sets them, and only after you accept them in the cookie banner. Together they count unique visitors & visits:

  • ss_cid, ss_cpvisit & ss_cvr: 2 years

  • ss_cvisit & ss_cvt: 30 minutes

The numbers stay in my Squarespace account. I don't sell them, share them or use them for ads.

No advertising cookies

There are no advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

Links to other sites

Links to Instagram, LinkedIn, Substack, Pinterest & ShopMy open those sites. They set their own cookies under their own policies.

Your choice

The first time you visit, a banner asks what you're OK with: accept all, decline all or choose by type. Your choice is saved for 30 days, then the banner asks again.

Changed your mind? Click "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of any page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but if you block the necessary ones, the contact form may stop working.
